‘Tapalinga’ Rising Star Award
Starwin Management is committed to developing champions in sport, life and the community – and sponsored the ’Tapalinga’ Rising Star award for the best 21 and under player for Tiwi Bombers in the NTFL season 2010/11. NTFL Season 2011/12
Round 1: Starwin Management congratulates Dion Munkara, number 3 for Tiwi Bombers on his nomination for the ‘Tapalinga’ Rising Star award in Rd 1 – with his outstanding performance in the backline against Palmerston Magpies. Keep starring up!
Round 2: Congratulations to Anthony ‘Walla’ Tipungwuti for his nomination for the ’Tapalinga’ Rising star award in Rd 3 for his solid performance against Waratahs, and running through the packs!
Round 3: Well done to recruit Patty Flynn earning a nomination with his strong work against Southern Districts.
Round 4: Last season’s winner Samson ‘Dundee’ Mungatopi earns a nomination for his in and under work and defensive pressure against league leaders Nightcliff Tigers.
Round 5: Young defender Michael Dunn dominated with his running play off the half backline in the Bombers win over rivals Saint Marys, earning him a nomination for the round.
Round 6: Tiwi Island sensation Ross Tungatalum dominated in the Bombers convincing win over last year’s premiers Wanderers. Congratulations on your nomination!
Round 7: Craig Malone is new to the Bombers this season but is already having an impact. His skills shone against the Darwin Buffaloes in the Bombers 25 goal win!
Round 8: the nomination goes to Albert ‘Rocky’ Tipungwuti who has been rejuvenated as a defender this season! His shut-down work against Palmerston was instrumental in the Bombers win!
Round 9: Patrick ‘Bugsy’ Heenan went forward in a rare move and slotted 5 goals – great work in earning a nomination in what was a tough hit out against Waratah in the heat at Gardens Oval, the match ending in a draw!
Round 10: Congratulations to Kenny ‘Simba’ Puruntatameri for his gutsy effort against ladder-toppers Nightcliff Tigers. Simba put his body on the line and helped create many of the Bombers scoring opportunities, eventually going down by 31 points after a strong last quarter comeback!
Round 11: Well done to Victorian recruit Corey Kelly with his best performance to date for the Bombers pressing forward for a 3 goal return in the Bombers impressive win over Saint Marys.

Congratulations to the winner: Samson Mungatopi! Samson was awarded a medallion and $300 Cricket & Football shop voucher at the Tiwi Bombers presentation night 25 March 2011.

Round 6: Congratulations to new Victorian recruit Nyaburu Kelly for his nomination for the Tapaligna Rising Star award. Nyaburu plans to move to Darwin after Christmas to be a permanent player for the Bombers.

Round 8: Well done to Nicholas (Lucky) Daniels-Heenan on your contribution to the big win against Saint Marys on the weekend, earning this rounds nomination for the ‘Tapalinga’ Rising Star award.
Round 9: The Tapalinga Rising Star nomination goes to Queenslander Joel Smouha for the big man’s ruckwork in the Bombers dominating performance over Palmerston on home turf.
Round 10: This week’s Starwin Management Tiwi Bombers Tapalinga Rising Star award goes to Adrian Mungatopi, the Milikapiti player kicking 3 goals on debut!
Round 11: Dominating down back in the red and black was number 6 Patrick (Paddy) Heenan, helping the Bombers on the way to their strong win over Southern Districts. Congratulations on your nomination for the Tapalinga award!
Round 12: The nomination goes to Anthony Kerinaiua with his 2 goals in the MJ Rioli memorial trophy match. Congratulations also to Timmy Mosquito (Waratah) and Michael Dunn (Bombers), memorial medal winners.

Round 13: Congratulations to number 31 Gerrard ‘Muna’ Cunningham, with his 4 goal performance – earning his nomination for Tapalinga Rising Star in Tiwi Bombers win against Nightcliff.
Round 14: Tiwi Bombers have a hard fought 3 point win over Palmerston in teeming rain and Samson ‘Dundee’ Mungatopi number 1 – earns a nomination for the ‘Tapalinga Rising Star Award’ for his courage and in and under work!
Round 15: Well done to Wayne ‘Joe-Joe’ Pilakui for earning a nomination for the Tiwi Bombers Tapalinga award, for his performance in narrow loss to Saint Marys.
Round 16: The ‘Tapalinga Rising Star nomination this week goes to Gerard Purautatameri in the Tiwi Bombers v Wanderers game played at Gardens. Congratulations ‘Shower’!
Round 17: Dylan Tipiloura is nominated for the award for his part in in the Bombers win over Darwin Buffaloes.
