Aboriginal Mats - Campfire Orange 2.4m
THE CAMPFIRE ABORIGINAL DESIGN MAT IN EARTHY BLACK, ORANGE AND WHITE.
Designed by Indigenous artist Angela Marr-Grogan. Angela is a Birrbay with connections to the Dhanggatti and Warrimay people on NSW mid-north coast. This design showcases the campfire as a meeting place, as well as a source for warmth and cooking.
The Campfire design is based on the gathering of individuals around a central meeting space to share dreaming stories. Invite your children to find a symbol to sit on and start a discussion about art, culture and traditions. This design is gorgeous and functional for all outdoor activities. Use yours as camping mats, at sporting events, in the garden or at the beach.
Marr-Grogan’s design reminds us of the importance of sharing stories when it comes to understanding one’s own, or other people’s, cultural heritage.
Recycled Mats works in consultation with Indigenous artists to create authentic, ethically produced Aboriginal design mats that celebrate cultural diversity and are culturally-appropriate for use within and outside their communities.
Our Indigenous design floor coverings are easy to look after, too. Spills wipe off with ease, whilst heavier soiling can be hosed off. Roll up your mat for storage or transportation as you move from home to the park.
