96hr Anaerobic Green-Tip Geisha

About the Coffee and Producer - Janson Family

In 1941, Carl Axel Janson immigrated from Sweden and began a cattle farm on the top of Talamanca Mountain Range which has now evolved into the renowned Janson Coffee Farm. On this farm they have established high quality varietals of Catuai, Caturra, Pacamara and Green Tip Geisha. The rich volcanic soil and unique microclimate combined with careful hand selection and processing has resulted in several Best of Panama awards.

The Janson family have committed 100% of their efforts to improve and protect their environment. 400 solar panels were installed to produce energy for the farm, and all excess matter created through processing is reused as fuel or fertilizer.

Only 30kgs of this special Green Tip Geisha lot was produced, which underwent extensive fermentation for 96 hours, then was sun dried for 7 days. This has resulted in a memorable tactile and flavour experience with notes of boozey natural red wine, blueberries and florals of hibiscus.

Artwork Title: Spatial Construction (Tiered Landscape)
Year: 2021
Medium: Digital Drawing (Procreate)
“Drawing from my own years in the coffee industry, I took the climate and terrain for High Grown coffee (or at least as I remember it) as the basic idea for this artwork. Then meditating on its description, a lively fruit bomb exciting whilst retaining poise and elegance, I explored colours and weights to find a dynamic and sprawling scene. One that confidently celebrates its individual moments whilst simultaneously pleasing as a composition in its totality, the same way a good coffee is both a good coffee, as well as a cup of specific fruits and flavours.”
