Get your very own Tiwi designed cotton tote bag, all printed by hand on country. They make perfect book bags, shopping bags or if you are heading out for the day!
This is a one-of-a-kindness project to support senior students at Xavier Catholic College, a school at Wurrumiyanga (Bathurst Island), Tiwi Islands. Guided by their art teacher, students have studied design concepts and learnt to screen print. Starwin is working in collaboration with the school, so the students can readily sell them, with full proceeds going to the students to help raise funds for their graduation and future career pathways. (Starwin is only collecting 10% to cover transaction costs & freight.) Many of the artists have been a part of our Tiwi Youth Girls Leadership program and we aim to continue our support of their career pathway.

Honu Jarrakulani - L. Pateriki
Honu Jarrakulani means Turtle Turtle in both Maori and Tiwi language. I am of maori heritage but have lived in the Tiwi Islands for all of my teenage years. The turtle is important to both cultures and helps me make a connection between the two
Colour: Black bags with various ink colours
Note - students modelling the bags are not always the artist.
