THE YARNING CIRCLE ABORIGINAL DESIGN RECYCLED MAT.
Designed by innovative Australian Aboriginal artist De Greer Yindimincarlie, of the Wiradjuri Nation in central New South Wales, this recycled, reversible floor mat includes a range of different Aboriginal symbols. Can you see men and women? Children? Emu or kangaroo tracks? How about digging tools, boomerangs and coolamons? Introduce children to the world of storytelling through symbolism, which is a central part of Aboriginal art.
These mats are a great way to bring diversity education into the school or early learning environment in fun and engaging ways. Make cultural stories a part of everyday life by using these mats as story mats or eating places.
The Yarning Circle is durable and easy to clean, as well as comfortable to sit on or walk on. The large size makes it a great space for gathering a class group or extended family, indoors or outdoors.
These mats are reversible. Mat colours may differ slightly from the images shown due to the different inks used in individual print runs.
The floor mats have been made to the best attainable standards from UV treated recycled polypropylene and are suitable for indoor and outdoor use, but extensive exposure to sun or rain will lead to fading and deterioration over time.
