When you visit our sites, expect to be treated with kindness, experience local culture and engage with local Makers & Kreators - all part of the one-of-a-kindness experience we offer.
We founded our shopfront space in Darwin in 2013 and from 2019-2022 had an additional site in Port Douglas. These sites are the hub of our Career Pathways initiatives, which aim to support community leaders to do what they love, where they love. Growing this, in 2021, we invested in a pop-up space for six months, known as The Cove by Mayala Bol, which was co-located with our Darwin store. Since October, Ocean Rose NT has been leading this as a Two Kind Space space, now a home for our Lighting the Way workshops for the next generation.
In 2019, as part of our mission is to support young Indigenous women to transition into the workforce, we developed a mentoring model: 'Each One, Teach One', growing a one-of-a-kindness framework for engaging new workers and supporting our team their emerging careers. Over time we have worked in collaboration with career pathways providers like Youthworx NT and Cape York Girl Academy. In 2022, we are also starting a new initiative with CareerTrackers, an Indigenous work experience program.
Our Darwin team is well supported on site by Liz Grylls (EMG Psychology), Karina Kassman (Artist in Residence), Ebonie Pedretti (Executive Support), Gabby Hudson (Finance) and Michelle Trudgen from Ocean Rose who is co-located with us in Darwin.
Since 2022, we have been planted the seeds for the Next Generation and our mission is extending our mentoring model and for each our team members to grow their own community enterprise.
