Designed by accomplished Australian Aboriginal artist De Greer Yindimincarlie, of the Wiradjuri Nation in central New South Wales, using many different Aboriginal symbols. It tells a story of traditional community life, including symbols for campsites, warriors, women and kangaroo tracks.
This intricate design is ideal as a teaching tool, helping students of all ages learn more about their own and other cultures while they read, eat or play on an indoor or outdoor rug. It’s a practical introduction to Indigenous symbolism in art and opens us up to the world of storytelling through pictures.
Like all our recycled mats, Tracks is hard-wearing and easy to clean – wipe away dirt and dust, or hose it off and dry it in the shade. Made from 95% recycled plastics, Tracks is light enough to carry or fold up for transport or storage, so you can move it from ‘home corner’ to ‘story corner’ or even outside for a picnic lunch.
