Dean Jakamara Briscoe is a respected Australian Indigenous artist from the Anmatyerre, Central Desert, region. He’s a professional artist and owner of Anmatyerre Arts and Crafts. In Water Dreaming, he reminds us of the fact that water is imperative to life everywhere. It is particularly noticeable in desert regions, where rain and full waterholes can transform an arid landscape within hours. Rain means new life.
Every Aboriginal mat commissioned by Recycled Mats is developed in close consultation with communities, and features images that are culturally-appropriate for sharing.
