Our vision is to invest in the next generation and support women to do what they love, where they love. With renowned artists in her family from East Arnhem and Groote Eylandt, Louise joined Starwin in 22 via the Youthworx NT program and at 20 years of age, she is keen to learn, and grow her own creative enterprise. This is the fifth painting in her first series, drawing on knowledge passed on from elder generations.

Duda Duda painting
' This painting is to replicate my grandmother’s father, Gerald Blitner had done before he had passed. I wanted to show my own way of doing the fresh water turtles.
The lines in this painting are called Duda Duda, my grandmother Wendy Blitner daughter of Gerald Blitner, she had always told me that in my tribe we only do crosshatching. And now I understand why it’s so important to take on the role and keep the generation of my grandfathers art going. I am lucky enough to have the skill and to take on this role.'
