Lighting the Way

"We aim to multiply the value of work we do, by investing in our next generation of leaders, and their learning." Starwin Collective

A big shout out and congratulations to Sharniqua Oxtoby who this week has officially completed her NXT GEN Arts placement, a program and opportunity by NT Government.

This has been a six-month journey for Niqua learning how to establish her own creative enterprise ReTelling Country and also getting an insight into the skills and knowledge required as an arts industry worker. Even more challenging, most of it was completed remotely as she was in Sydney studying Fashion + Design at UTS.

A special mention to our collective in Darwin and beyond who have reached deep and supported Niqua each time she has returned and given opportunity for her to learn to weave, sew, set goals, budget, market, lead workshops and more.

Yesterday Niqua had the fabulous chance to spend time with Aly de Groot, setting designs and cataloguing this one-of-a-kindness collection created in collaboration with Gapuwiyak Culture and Arts for an upcoming event. This is a special sneak preview!

As a community, we are deeply grateful you invest with us in growing a Made with Kindness Economy, so we in turn can invest in the next generation who are lighting the way ✨
