ReTelling Country

With knowledge handed down from the Wangatunga Women of Tiwi Islands, Sharniqua Hutt (nee Oxtoby) has founded her own enterprise. As a young artist, with Tiwi, Arrernte and Wunumbal heritage, Sharniqua has facilitated demonstration sessions at community events and led NAIDOC Weaving sessions for school groups. Studying her final year of Fashion Textiles and Designs at UTS, Sharniqua returns home to Darwin on uni breaks to host sessions as a way of keeping connected to her community.
