“There is no doubt that creativity is the most important human resource of all. Without creativity, there would be no progress, and we would be forever repeating the same patterns.” —Edward de Bono
This month we have welcomed more young leaders to our Darwin space, upholding our 2022 Vision.
As part of our Each One, Teach One mentoring program our workers are invited to complete goal setting and learning activities, including developing their own profiles.
We asked Shikira Henry to share her story...
"Hi my name is Shikira, I was born in Katherine but I grew up with my father in Milikapiti (Snake Bay) on the Tiwi Islands.
I graduated from school in 2020 at St John’s as a border and the first out of my siblings to graduate.
I enjoy watching and playing footy (AFL). I’m currently playing for Tiwi Bombers in NTFL (Darwin) and Garrak Bombers in BRFL (Katherine).
I am enjoying myself at Starwin and learning new things."
Shikira has been connected to Starwin and our Tiwi Youth Girls Leadership programs for several years, is a talented award-winning athlete, previously representing NT.
This NTFL season, Shikira wanted to stay in Darwin so she can train and play with Tiwi Bombers - so we are offering her a career pathway to make this possible.
We also thank the Rioli / Brookes family for all of their support to make it happen.
If you get chance, please drop by our Darwin space and say hi.
