At the Shopfront

Hello my name is Kerrina Tamiano. I enjoy a diverse cultural heritage including Aboriginal, Rotuman, Dutch and Samoan. Myfamily clan is Amurdak Bunitj and we have also have strong links to Croker Island and Cobourg Peninsula where my maternal grandfather was born. I was born in Victoria and raised in the NT.

I completed my NT Certificate of Education. This was a big accomplishment for me because I am the first one in my family to complete high school. I was keen to get a job and almost immediately, I began working on a casual basis as a youth worker with a local Indigenous health service. I eventually moved to a permanent position and continued as a youth worker for over 8 years! During this time, I developed many skills, gained lots of experience and met many great people. The owner of Starwin, Karina Gray was one of them! Karina is a great inspiration to us all and when I found out there was an opportunity to come and work for her at Starwin, I jumped at it. I am really look forward to being part of Starwin’s exciting future projects. Watch this space!!!
