Tiwi Art by Lulu
Lulu creates art in the Tiwi traditional style. She developed her artistic skills and cultural knowledge by watching and listening to “the old people” – her mother, aunties, uncles, and grandparents. Their main craft was the Pukumani pole, which is a ceremonial burial pole, spears and bark paintings, among other Tiwi art forms.
Lulu has become a renowned artist with her designs featured by the AFL in partnership with Sherrin, Hawthorn Football Club guernseys, local NTFL club St Mary's attire and Top End NAIDOC clothing.
