Our vision is to invest in the next generation, with community leaders providing consulting and mentoring support for young Indigenous women to grow their own career pathways and creative enterprises.

Celebrating Success: Higher Attire

Thanks to the generosity of our community we have gifted over 300 formal dresses across the tropical north since 2017. It's our way of caring for country and supporting youth and community leaders to celebrate their success.

Circles of Support: Collaboration

Since 2019, we have supported team member Ebonie to grow her own enterprise, Infant Massage by Ebonie. IMBE hosts sessions and workshops for families at our Darwin shopfront. To express your interest, e: infantmassagebyebonie@gmail.com

Since 2017 our team of young Indigenous leaders have hosted Storytime sessions for little ones and their families to encourage learning through play, song and stories.

Djamarlia

Djamarlia joined our team in 22 as the first participant in the Career Trackers NT program. A recent year 12 graduate with aspirations for a career in Law. Since October 23, Djamarlia has stepped into a leading and mentoring role at our Darwin store. We have also supported her up with additional work, firstly at Sealink NT and now with Darwin City Libraries.

Louise

With renowned artists in her family from Groote Eylandt, Louise joined Starwin in 22 via the Youthworx NT program. Working with us in a casual capacity, Louise and is keen to learn, and grow her own creative enterprise and now sells her artwork via our Darwin store.

Sharniqua

A graduate of St Johns College, Sharniqua started with us on work experience in 2020 and has been a valued worker across both our sites. We supported Niqua to take up study at UTS in Fashion & Design and in 2021, Niqua founded her own enterprise ReTelling Country. She spends her uni breaks back home in the NT and leading workshops for Starwin.

Kreative Karina

Local artist & designer, Karina Kassman, gives life to our inspirations. Her passions are graphic design and photography, services we can now offer you. She also brings expertise in youth work, health research and comms and is mentoring the next generation at Starwin.

Karina

Karina is the founder of Starwin and now volunteers behind the scenes as a mentor for the next generation. Passionate about creating career pathways for women, Karina is a renowned solution broker and designer of youth leadership programs, and an award winning sportsperson & coach.

Ebonie

A qualified nurse and health practitioner, Eb has twice been a team member. A mum to two gorgeous Indigenous boys, Until June 23, Eb was in store with baby Baylon and leading our on-site admin. Now you can support her own enterprise by booking an in-store session with 'Infant Massage by Ebonie'.

Deontae

Joining the team in 24, Deontae is a 18 year old proud young Jawoyn and Muluridji woman living on Larrakia country. Deontae is also an aspiring model and talented sportsperson. We have now supported Deontae into work in Adelaide, set to return to Starwin on her holiday breaks
